nice to meet you,
i’m Chelsea, the creator of all things bound. i enjoy creating unique beaded things with a metalsmith touch in the West Elk mountains of Crested Butte, Colorado. i’ve been the luckiest girl in the world to grow up in the mountains. i’m from Durango, Colorado and moved to Crested Butte when I was 24. i had just barely graduated from Fort Lewis College with my Environmental and Organismal Biology degree when i finally had the chance to set my sights outside my beautiful hometown.
while working at Rocky Mountain Biological Lab on a large watershed project i collected plant phenology data, designed snowmelt experiments to study early snowmelt in mountain systems, and carried out and defended my master’s degree in Ecosystem Sustainability at Colorado State University. and it was the hardest time of my life. i finished my degree tired and in need of work that really nourished my soul.
i spent 8 years in the flowers,
and when i got the chance i completely changed my trajectory. i returned to working at the local rum distillery in exchange for a lot of free mornings to really expand on my business. the summer after graduating i got a job working for a local jewelry maker and friend who really opened up my eyes to running a small business. the next summer, i was finally doing the local farmer’s market and it’s been a beautiful growing business since. nothing makes me happier than a human genuinely finding connection in my designs.
creating was a source of peace,
only the beginning,
i’m so excited to do work that feels like the most true expression of my self. and i hope you find true expression of your self in my creations too
